Cost factor data exchange

Although all relevant data in a company can be processed electronically it often cannot be integrated completely. The reason being that it is captured in different systems which don’t work together.

  • The accounting system does not work together with the ordering workflow.
  • The payroll cannot produce a telephone directory.
  • Cost centres must be updated manually in the internal accounting system because the accounting system has no compatible export function for cost centres and transfer postings.

Integration reduces costs. Independently operating, individual interfaces reduce the workload on the department if the individual systems are integrated. Company procedures are thereby enforced cheaply and processes slimmed down.

Working in close co-operation, our staff in consulting and development have implemented innumerable system integrations. Some examples:

  • Link-up of ordering to financial accounting.
  • Linking the Spider products to financial accounting, inventory systems and network tools.
  • Exporting from a commercial system into a management information system (MIS).

Strong together

Adaptive technologies are used for system integration. In some cases interfaces are available on both sides which can be made compatible with an individual tool. Interfaces on an XML basis are becoming more and more popular. This standardised format also needs converters that filter and convert data in order that that it can be understood by the target system.

Rules rule

Functional interfaces take company procedures into account when exchanging data. Often not all details have to be carried over, sometimes conversions are required. A particular theme is the treatment of errors: Interruptions should, if possible, be evaluated independently and only in serious cases should the administrator be notified.
